About us
As a governmental research funding body and knowledge centre, the Swedish Research Council for Sport Science supports stakeholders in making well‑informed decisions through up‑to‑date research, analysis and evidence‑based knowledge. We work to be a resource for society as a whole, with the aim of strengthening knowledge about sport, physical activity and outdoor recreation, and their contributions to performance, public health and societal development.
Research. Knowledge. Physical Activity.
The Swedish Research Council for Sport Science is a governmental research funding body and knowledge center that gathers and disseminates knowledge on the individual, places, and society, and provides a basis for well‑informed decision-making on sport, outdoor recreation, and physical activity.
Established in 1988, our mission today is to fund research, monitor and evaluate government support to the sports movement, carry out in-depth analyses, and promote the development of better sport and physical activity facilities across Sweden.
