About us

The Swedish Research Council for Sport Science is a government research funder and knowledge centre that gathers and disseminates knowledge on the individual, places, and society. We provide a foundation for informed decision-making in the areas of sport, outdoor recreation, and physical activity.

Established in 1988, our mission today is to fund research, monitor and evaluate government support to the sports movement, conduct in-depth analyses, and promote the development of better sport and physical activity facilities across Sweden.
