Research funding on a bottom-up basis
The Swedish Research Council for Sport Science (CIF) provides funding for research through a ‘bottom-up’ grant application process. All applications must clearly demonstrate relevance to sport, and a broad definition of sport is used. Sports research can be conducted in any scientific field. Researchers at Swedish higher education institutions are eligible to apply for these grants.
Each year, CIF announces three types of grants: project grants, postdoctoral grants, and grants for organisations, networks and cooperation.
